Want to dye bits of my hair hot pink? Maybe extensions?

My hair is naturally dark brown and I want to get pink highlight or tips. Tips seem a better idea because if I can hate it I can cut it off. I know pink fades is there anyway to prevent that? any ideas? warnings? I could get pink extensions instead? just shooting for ideas. My hair is just below shoulder length and needs a style to go with the color help???

Want to dye bits of my hair hot pink? Maybe extensions?

i use coloured extensions on my hair coz i dont wanna over-process my hair. and with extensions u can always choose the exact shade that u want. so go for extensions

Want to dye bits of my hair hot pink? Maybe extensions?

You should get pink extensions, it's much safer and looks better!

xoxo,

Amber von Tussle aka Miss Teenage Hairspray!

Want to dye bits of my hair hot pink? Maybe extensions?

I got pink highlights once and it was a hot mess! It would have looked really great if not for the fact that the stylist who did it for me pulled my hair through a cap - as normal highlights often are. It wasn't the look that I was going for at all. It blended in too much and I had wanted the pink streaks to kind of stand out more.

I'd suggest - if you decide to get pink highlights instead of using hair pieces - that you have your stylist (or whoever's highlighting your hair) FOIL them in. And even then I wouldn't do very many to start out with (incase you don't like it) and I would take the hair in small, chunky sections and add color. And I would only do the top layer of hair or so.

Also, with dark brown hair it could be hard to get the desired pink you want. I have blonde hair, so it was really easy for me. However, people with dark hair typically have to bleach the intended area before dying their hair a lighter color - so I would check with your stylist on that.

Good luck!

Want to dye bits of my hair hot pink? Maybe extensions?

I've highlighted my hair pink before. I wouldn't quite say I regretted it, but I admit, I did feel stupid at times because the color didn't match me at all. My hair is also naturally dark brown, and I don't think hot pink goes well with it. Another thing to consider is your skin color. Also, your satirical style may not go well with it either. Dying the tips only is not a bad idea... just not in pink. You want something different? Go with the extensions. Good quality ones can be pricey and require some work every time you use them, but you can make it worth it.

If you're absolutely sure you want to go with the pink, know that it will fade no matter what. Like these lovely ladies above me mentioned, you WILL need to bleach your hair before dying it that hideous color. The lighter your hair is, the louder the color will be, but of course, I didn't need to tell you that, right?

How long should my hair be to attach extensions?

Everytime I go to get my hair TRIMMED I tell the stylists that I'm trying to grow it out so JUST trim it a tiny bit to get the dead ends off. Then the loser whacks it ALL off...then I spend weeks waiting for it to grow out to the length on my avatar. Is that long enough to get extensions? I'm considering extensions because I fear that, at this rate, I'll never get it long again.

How long should my hair be to attach extensions?

you can get extenstions with very short hair, the problem is, is that you will be able to see where your real hair ends, so if you want long hair, it might look a little strange, but they can still do it

How can you get the scene hair if your hair is curly?

How can you get the scene hair if your hair is curly? I mean i have curly hair and I have to straighten it...I want the appearance of thinner hair, without extensions, and choppy parts without it looking totally AD. What hair products or w/e should I use?

How can you get the scene hair if your hair is curly?

Well if you don't have layers it isn't really seen but w/e...So you stairghten it which is good. All you hafta do it tease your hair just get a comb and some hair spray and get about 1 inch of hair and spray it then tease it.*should look like statue of liberty* Then after you finish your whole head gently brush it out...That's it then use a clip OR a bow.=D

How can you get the scene hair if your hair is curly?

My hair is super curly, but I have insanely wicked bangs, which definatly would fit the "scene" crowd. I have to straighten them every day, but it actually looks quite nice with my curly hair.

How can you get the scene hair if your hair is curly?

Get a hair straightener

or get it chemically straightened?

get layers or just leave it curly, messy, and frizzy.

Wat are extension?

wat are extensions and how u get dem and wat do u put in your hair for extensions

Wat are extension?

Hair Extensions that are popular and used mainstream, are not made of "fake" or "synthetic" hair. In one method, the hair is attached in a strand by strand method that lasts up to 6 months. A tiny rice grain attachment is placed 1/4" away from the scalp and human hair blended to match a clients color is added. A weave is popular in the African American community and that is when hair is stitched against the scalp, the antiquated method is painful and the tension can pull out the clients own hair. Some people are switching to a strand by strand technique since it is better for the hair and looks natural. Human Hair, unlike synthetic Hair can be curled with heat, and washed as often as needed. Method of attachment can vary from a Keratin wax adhesive, which can be removed with an acetone based remover or a Hair Locking system which is a copper tube clamped around the hair. A popular but incorrect misconception is that African Americans are the only ethnicity to use hair extensions. Fake Hair is popular not only amongst African Americans, but other ethnicities as well. Many celebrities of all ethnicities use hair extensions to give the appearance of length, thickness, and fullness.

Wat are extension?

wen u get someones cut of hair sown on to your hair to make your hair longer

Wat are extension?

EXTENTIONS R EXACTLY WHAT IS READS, "EXTENTION"!! PIECES OF HAIR THAT U CONNECT TO YOUR HAIR. GO TO THE HAIR SALON. YOU CAN EITHER GET HUMAN HAIR OR SYNTHIC!

Wat are extension?

extensions are things u put in ur hair to make it look longer.

Wat are extension?

They are fake hair. You braid them in.

Wat are extension?

extensions are like horse hair of human hair. also called weave. they put it in to make their hair seem longer than b4.u could do it in what ever style u want braid it in or sew it in if Ur talking about tracks(which is another form of extension).

Wat are extension?

hair extensions come in a variety. synthetic or human hair.

all colors, 6"12"18"22"26"inches, some are sewn in, some use glue and some clip in. I used extensions for years. clips are the easiest and always buy human hair extensions. you can do them yourself

they last a very long time with proper care.If you go to a

salon it can be very expensive. my first set cost over 400.00 and they used glue they started coming out after a week. go to yahoo type in hair extensions and you can see them for yourself. cost for clipins $139+389.00 plus shipping.

Has anyone had any trouble with Jessica Simpson "Human" Hair Do Extensions?

I really want to try them..but it kinda creeps me out..any reason for NOT getting them?

Has anyone had any trouble with Jessica Simpson "Human" Hair Do Extensions?

lol I just asked this question a few minutes ago.

Actually, I asked about them in general.

I already wear clip-in extensions, just not the HairDo ones, and they aren't a problem at all for me.

Has anyone had any trouble with Jessica Simpson "Human" Hair Do Extensions?

Why don't you try them?Everyone is different.Who knows you might like them.

Has anyone had any trouble with Jessica Simpson "Human" Hair Do Extensions?

I used them and they were pretty good. This blonde lady at Ulta in San Antonio named Paula helped me. I think she moved to Beauty First.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

hi, i am thinking about getting a long weave for a change, I usually get braids but it takes to long. I was wondering if the hair can be re used again. I know there are certain types of hair out there that are better than others, if you could name some good ones that would be very helpful.

I have Afro hair

thanks

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

You are right about the types of hair being different. Synthetic hair (which I don't advise you to use but it is cheaper) should not be used again. It gets matted and is very hard to manage and if you try to wash it it will smell. Now there is human hair which can be washed, but I would only rewash that twice because although you can get longer wear out of it that will start to smell as well. Bottom line

Synthetic= do not wash wear once good luck

Human= use 2x comb out let air dry then get rid of it

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

When I had hair extensions my stylists used them maybe 2 times before they were no good every 4-5 months. It was nice because I didn't have to pay for new hair every time I wanted a little touch up or if they were looking dull. If you keep them up nicely and don't let them turn into a rats nest then you can reuse them. I don't remember the name of it but I do know that it was human hair that she used on me.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

It really depends on if you got the real hair or the fake hair and if you glue it or sew it. If you sew it and get the real hair you can re-use it again, just make sure when you wash it it is completely dry when you wash it! Good luck!

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

i don't think it would be good to re-use the weave better to get new tracks, i don't wear weave just seen a lotta other girls use it and talk on it

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

I really don't suggest this unless the hair is still in great condition. Perhaps a few of the old tracks could be doubled up with new ones to create volume and density. Also if you are getting braids the hair is loose, not on a weft. It sounds like you need to order wefts now. These are totally different types of hair. Your tech should be your best source for hair. They have companies that they like for hair and can give you the exact level and tones you want to order.

Hair weave/extensions re-usable?

Cor. Don't be so mean to yourself. Just buy a new one.......thats probably why so many women have such tatty weaves - they've been continually regurgitated!!!!!!

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

can we put extensions in our hair if so where could i buy them. is it the regular blacks weave? i wanted black and brown extensions.

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

just about anyplace that does hair

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

go to a brown person hair salon

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

The same place black people get it done.....lol

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

A beauty salon!

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

anywhere in "the hood". lots of black women do hair on the weekend and do it really well for a much better price than you are going to find in a salon. more personalized.

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

depending on the city you live in there are alot of salons that do this service. Try surfing the web and checking out the different techniques. Ex. Hair fusion, Sew-ins, Bonding etc. Call a salon in your area and check out the pricing and make sure the person knows what they are doing. If you want the more inexpensive route some sores offer pieces that ou can clip onto your hair. to give you the same effect. No weave or extensions is not a "Black" thing check out "Your" Girls Paris Hilton,Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan. Man get over it! "White" folks do extentions at their salon not just blowdrys and foils. Grow up!

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

yeah u can pust extensions in, u can go to like a hair supply store get your color or any color then go to your hair salon and get it either glued in or sewed in.

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

Dont get extensions they will ruin the hair you already have so it cant grow. If you want your hair to grow just eat a balanced diet and take vitamans for hair growth and get pleanty of sleep and relax. And learn to love the hair you already have and soon you will forget about it and it will grow.

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

You can buy "Human hair extentions", they just clip in and they are human hair so you are able to wash them, and color them and use hot irons on them! You can order them thru a salon or at salon supplies stores.

They are awsome! You can put them in an take them our very easily.

Where can white girls have extensions put in their hair?

DONT GET HAIR EXTENSTIONs.

they're not for your type of hair and they like weave them into your scalp it really hurts and then when they finally start to shed or come out it leave your hair looking like **** then you'll end up paying a lot more money for ne ones until you're bald becuase all your haris getting weaved into or rippe dout.

JUST DONT DO IT

Plaiting extensions into afro hair?

Hi, can anyone tell me where i can learn how to do the plaits with extensions on afro hair, have looked at loads of websites and cannot find any instructions! If you know of a website that can help or maybe a book or video you could recommend I'd be very grateful x

Plaiting extensions into afro hair?

If you can plait, you're half way there. I wear braided extentions that I do myself, and it just came with practise.

Here's how I do mine...

Section the small section of hair to be plainted

Take extention hair and tie into loop as though you are tying a knot but keep loose.

Loop this around the sectioned hair, tighten, and then start to plait hair down as you would normally. This is how I do mine and they never fall out, but best of all when you want them out they will slide out quite easily without having to be unplaited from the root. I do mine and all my friends - it just takes lots of practice.

Good luck x

Plaiting extensions into afro hair?

If your city has a recreational book, you know those ones they put out for every season, you can check in there. I know where I live they have alot of braiding classes. If that dosen't help, go to an African braiding shop (their the best) and ask for lessons. Not sure how much that'll cost, though.

Plaiting extensions into afro hair?

Wow- I didn't know people 'taught' how to braid hair. I learned on my Barbies growing up. Anyways, there's a bunch of people on youtube showing how to do it-but my advice is: you can't watch a video and learn how to braid-it's something that is learned by touch, feel and practice makes perfect.

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

becuase i have medium length hair and im mixed with curly type hair.and i want to dye my hair, so what do i do ?

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

you should definately get someone professional to help you.

they can share their opinion

and they can see what theyre doing and tell you if that's a good option for you and what the best way to do it is.

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

You may want to visit a couple of hair salons and talk to a stylist regarding what you want. Trying to do it yourself may damage your hair.

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

You need to go to a hair salon to get that done. It would be very hard to do that by yourself.

Hope this helps!

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

well you have many different options. There is infusion, where individual strands of extension hair is added to your own hair by attatching it with glue at the base of your scalp. Then you have bonded weaves where tracks of hair are glued to your hair. BOTH OF THESE WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR HAIR IF DONE INCORECTLY.

The best method is the sewn-in weave. I have been doing my weaves for years 7 to be exact. www.myspace.com/senciti (for pics) First wash and condition your hair. Then add a thermal protectant like Lusters PInk Oil or Moisture Cream from biosilk then blow dry hair. Then choose your style and braid the base according to your style, for example if you want a part on the side leave out enough of you natural hair to part and conceal tracks. If your hair is long /thick enough also leave out about a 1/2 in wide along hairline so you can pull it back and put it in a ponytail. Now that your hair is sectiond off begin to cornrow small thin braids that connect at the center of the head then braid together all loose ends and using a c-curve needle and color matching thread sew the loose end of the braid to the center. Now you can begin adding hair sew on hairat even increments begining at the nape ad working your way up. Once the last track is applied secure thread. Now remember to use good indian hair no the cheap BEAUTY SUPPLY store hair use REMI it last for up to a year and it can be dyed, permed, washed, just like real hair and still look good! Now that your weave is in, begibg to blend your hair with the weave by using a ceramic flat iron like a CHI ironto smooth natural hair and after some styling your'e all done!

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

They also have extensions where its pretty much a clip, with hair on it. and you clip the longer extension on a section of your hair, and it stays there.

How do you put extensions to hair? I'm mixed with meduim length hair?

Invest in a good hair stylist and colorist

Hair stylists!?

k so i have dark brown hair and extensions.

i really want to go blonde but not extreamly.

like i want highlights i dont know what color to get but i dont want red! or orange.

and im thinking about getting a fake tan

soo what highlights would look good with a tanned color.

pictures would be helpful : )

thanksss

Hair stylists!?

Woahhh. Why trying to have everything fake? Okay well... Keep your hair brown. Have the hairstylist foil in some highlights. I would do a caramel color and a lighter color to make it look tonal. Are you going to get new extensions put in? Also... depending on what tan you use, most of the time it isnt really worth it unless you have a special occasion because the spray tanning doesn't last really long; up to 2 weeks at the most and if you sweat it can run off, and it looks really fake. Just hop in a tanning bed. That way you don't have to worry about your tan rinsing off!

Hair stylists!?

Best to ask your own stylist. I would definitely go with highlights instead of a full blond. Any time you lighten your hair it is done with a bleaching aid. I'd go with a honey colored highlight and not throughout your whole head, mostly on top and around your face, a few in the back. And don't do really chunky highlights...it's very dated. :) Get foils, not the cap.

Where can i find hair clip extensions in New York City??

Apparently the Jessica Simpson ones are meant to be good. Should be able to get them over there...try any leading hair products store...

Does having extensions make your real hair grow less?

i put in glue-in extensions when my hair was about to my shoulders, and i took them out yesterday and it seemed like my real hair was shorter than when i put the extensions in. i dont know if this was me just imagining it because i was used to having longer hair though. so i was just wondering.

Does having extensions make your real hair grow less?

hey girl, from personal experience, i tell you YES weave does break your hair off...think about it, your masking you scalp with BLACK gunky glue--how is it supposed to breath? and it's a proven fact that if you don't wash your hair on a consistent basis then it's not going to grow; you know because your hair folicles are trapped with dirt, and smog and whatever else you encounter throughout the day. it's hard though, because weave is an amazing thing one minute you can have your hair short and the next long...so i know it's a hard cycle to break. you'd be surprised what products are damaging to ethnic hair: gel, hair spray, heat (curling irons) sleeping on it without tying it up (with a satin scarf) ...i mean there's a lot if things. take it from me girl...wash your hair every 2 days (try elucence products available at STRANDZ hair salons) wrap it while it's wet with wrap lotion and tie it with a satin scarf as oppose to blow drying, don't sleep on it without tying it up, if your going to use chemicals give yourself 14 days in between treatments and you'll start to notice a difference in your hair quality. now that i've gotten over my weave-a-licious stage my hair is the healthiest it's ever been and it long...oh yeah try taking vitamins too--there are some that are specially formulated for hair, skin, and nails. those help alot too

Does having extensions make your real hair grow less?

The glue can be damaging to the hair. Did you keep your scalp conditioned during the time the extensions were in, that is important. Also, sometimes when taking the extensions out all the hair that comes out seems like a lot when combing and can sike you into thinking you lost more hair then you would have had you not had the extensions in, but that is not true.

What sort of hair cut / colour should I get? Picture included?

Darker or lighter?

I want something interesting too, maybe some bright colours.

My hair is very fine too, and i was considering getting real hair attachable extensions.

Any suggestions and pictures would be very much apreciated =)

If the second picture is indicative of your current hair length, I'd say stick with your current style, it suits you well, but experiment with colors a bit. Maybe a brighter red with some blond highlights.

I think putting red highlights would look nice.

What sort of hair cut / colour should I get? Picture included?

You could curl them or perhaps have a step cut-(that would actually look cute if you grow your hair a little). A lightish red would work. Even darker hair would make you look bolder.

You could go to sites like www.dove.com or www.sunsilk.com or else makeover sites.

All the best for your new look!

Taylor Swifts Hair?

Okay I have Shoulder length hair.

and I want Taylor Swifts hair I have blond hair.

Are Extensions expensive? how much are they?

Should I get a perm? What kind? How much are they?

PLEASE WILL PICK BEST ANSWER.

10 POINTS WOOOT WOOOOOOOOT

Taylor Swifts Hair?

I can tell you how to get that hair temporarily...

At night, wash your hair. While it is still wet, have someone help you put small perm rollers in your hair. (you can get them at beauty supply stores) You want to make sure that when you are putting the rollers in you are curling them away from your face if putting them in vertically, or curling them down, if putting them in horizontally. Leave them in over night. In the morning make sure your hair is completely dry. If not, use your hairdryer to dry your hair. Remove the curlers and you will have super curly hair like hers.

Taylor Swifts Hair?

Well, it would be very difficult to get your hair exactly like hers, as she has naturally curly hair and professional hair dressers. You could ask your hair cutter about how you could get your hair like that. Hope I helped!

If i put extensions in my hair, would it look like highlights if i put lighter hair?

i did japanese hair straightening so i can't put highlights in my hair. and ive put extensions in my hair before to look fuller but i want highlights. if i put extensions in, can it look like highlights? any suggestions? links? thanks : )

If i put extensions in my hair, would it look like highlights if i put lighter hair?

DONT OVER DUE THE EXTENSIONS, THEY USUALLY LOOK FAKE UNLESS U ARE HAVING THEM PROFESSIONALLY DONE, A LIGHTER COLOR A SHADE MAYBE BUT IF YOU WANT BRIGHT THEN USE A COLOR THAT BLENDS BUT WILL STAND OUT

If i put extensions in my hair, would it look like highlights if i put lighter hair?

it wont look like highlights

If i put extensions in my hair, would it look like highlights if i put lighter hair?

no b/c the "highlights" would be the long part of you hair and everything else would be shorter

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

My hair is a bit past my shoulders and is very thick and full. The problem is that the hairstyle i want to have for my wedding requires my hair to be a bit longer- maybe like 5 or so inches. Has anyone used extensions in their hair JUST for the wedding? I cant see myself wearing it on an everyday basis- but i was seriously considering it for the wedding and the pictures.

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

My best friend is getting married next month and has the opposite problem from yours. Her hair is fine and long. She decided to get extentions to fill her hair out more (since she is wearing it half down).

She figures (and I agree) that this is the only time in her life that she can indulge this since it's her wedding, so why not?

Same goes for you. You only get married once.

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

That would be a great idea, but you should still have practice day with your stylist anyway.

You can get temp extensions these days that you can wear just for one day. But just get good quality ones. And if they don't match your hair exactly, your stylist can dye them the same colour as your hair.

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

I have extensions on a year-round basis for fulness, not length, and I love them. I got hooked on them when I had them put in for my wedding! I would recommend them. The thing about it though, they're so expensive you might as well keep them in for the 2-3 months they last.

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

I wouldn't want to put all that time and money into my hair for some pictures. Instead, I would find a hairstyle that would work with your current length.

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

that sounds cool! :)

But I dont think you can get extensions just for that day unless the full on clip FAKE hair into your head

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

Make sure you go to a hair dresser that is fabulous and that you can trust. I'm sure whatever you decide, you're gonna be beautiful. It's your day, right? Congrats %26amp; Good Luck!

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

Go on an do it..But since your spending the cash keep them the little bit of time you can

Has anyone wore extensions in their hair on their wedding day to "fill" out their hair?

I know alot of people who have and it was always beautiful. No one would know if you didn't tell them. I plan on it for my wedding in November also.
